Don’t miss the last concert in the 2017 Season of our popular FREE Concert Series @ Westwood Library, featuring the Encore Saxophone Quartet!! If you have never heard a sax quartet, you are in for a wonderful treat – mellow, rich, versatile, and downright wonderful! We’ll be upstairs in the library on a Sunday afternoon when the library is not open for regular business.

The ENCORE SAXOPHONE QUARTET presents a fun eclectic program:

Florio – Quartette (Allegro de Concert)
Piazzolla – Tango No. 2
Iturralde – Suite Hellenique
Calle – Pamplona
Zick – Nada Pero Maquinas
PLUS: Big Band, jazz, and other selections from The Great American Songbook

Admission is FREE, with FREE parking at the library.
Library garage and doors open at 2:00 p.m.
Concerts last approximately one hour, with no intermission.
After the concert, meet the musicians and enjoy a complimentary reception hosted by SIMPLE THINGS Restaurant and the Friends of Westwood Library.

The Fiato String Quartet presents a wonderful program from the romantic era:
Alexander Glazunov – Five Novelettes, Op. 15
and
Johannes Brahms – String Quintet No. 2 in G major, Op. 111 (the “Prater Quintet”), for which Travis Maril will join the Fiato Quartet.

Pre-4th of July Concert! The second concert in our 2017 season features the BRASS PACIFICA QUINTET, back by popular demand, with a potpourri of American popular and patriotic favorites, by composer George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa, George M. Cohan, plus Western and other film themes, and the Armed Forces Tribute honoring both veterans and current servicemen and women. Fun for the whole family!

The FIATO STRING QUARTET will present an eclectic and enticing program:

Ludwig von Beethoven – String Quartet No. 7, Op. 59, no. 1
(the first of the Russian-themed “Razumovsky” quartets)

Adam Schoenberg – String Quartet No. 2 “Motio”
(a study of motion, from racing to “slo-mo,” composed in 2015 and premiered that year by the Fiato Quartet)
