2014 Concert Series @ Westwood Library

Quartet in Residence @ Westwood Library

In 2014 we embarked on a groundbreaking program for the Los Angeles Public Library system, raising enough funds to appoint a Quartet in Residence at the Westwood Branch Library, to perform four free concerts during the year—which has proven to be highly popular with patrons.

Above is a short video excerpted from the October 12, 2014 concert by the Quartet in Residence @ Westwood Library.

The second concert in our groundbreaking Quartet-in-Residence Program @ Westwood Library took place on Sunday, July 13, 2:30 p.m. The first concert in April was such a huge success—with a standing-room-only crowd that overflowed into the lobby from the library’s community room!  In order to accommodate a larger audience more comfortably, we got special permission from the Los Angeles Public Library administration to move the concerts upstairs into the library itself on Sunday afternoons, when the library is not otherwise open for regular business.

The Fiato String Quartet, Quartet in Residence @ Westwood Library, enchanted our audience with two of the most beloved quartets:
Beethoven — String Quartet Op. 18, no. 6
Dvorak — String Quartet Op. 96, no. 12 (“American”)
