The Library’s Quartet in Residence, the Fiato String Quartet, kicks off our 2015 Season with two masterful quartets:
Haydn – Quartet No. 62 in C major, Op. 76, no. 3 (the “Emperor Quartet”) Mendelssohn – Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 13 LAST MINUTE CHANGE! LA Chamber Orchestra violinist Joel Pargman will substitute for Ina Veli, second violin, who cannot make this concert. The Mendelssohn Quartet will be replaced on the program with a selection of violin duets: Jean-Marie LeClair – Sonata No. 1 for Two Violins Miklos Rozsa – Sonata for Two Violins, Op. 15 George & Ira Gershwin (arr. Joel Pargman) – “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein II (arr. Joel Pargman) – “All the Things You Are”
