“A l’ombra del campanar,” a new piece for string quartet commissioned by the L.A. Musical Salon from composer Vicente Ortiz Gimeno, was premiered at the L.A. Musical Salon concert on February 7, 2015 by the California String Quartet. The charming 5-1/2 minute piece recalls life in the town square of a small village, beneath the church bell tower.
