Our 2011 season kicked off on February 12 with a sparkling concert by violinist LINDSAY DEUTSCH, who took us on a whirlwind musical tour through the seasons, arcing from Vivaldi to Piazzolla, O’Connor and familiar popular songs. Ms. Deutsch was accompanied by pianist Vivian Fan.
On March 12, we were serenaded by enchanting vocalists HEATHER and RYAN REITHMEIER, soprano and baritone, who explored the connections between operetta, opera, musical theater and film in a program entitled “From Footlights to Film.” The Reithmeiers were accompanied by pianist Mark Salters, violinist Audrey Solomon and cellist Nick Alvarez.
For our final concert on April 9, the FIATO QUARTET showcased for us Dvorak’s popular and captivating String Quartet No. 12 in F, Op. 96, B. 179, the “American Quartet.”
