Our 2009 Season was
titled THE WINDS OF CHANGE, and featured our Artists in Residence the Blue Rose Trio (“BRT”) in different configurations—duo, solo, and in ensemble with our guest artists.

2009 CONCERT I: HOT NIGHTS In a sizzling bon voyage send-off for BRT cellist Lars Hoefs, who was
leaving Los Angeles after this concert to take up a fabulous nine-month assignment as Assistant Principal Cellist of the Brazilian
Symphony Orchestra (Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira)
in Rio de Janeiro, Lars and BRT pianist Rose Chen collaborated on a concert program of scintillating Latin America
music.

2009 CONCERT II: COOL BREEZES BRT pianist Rose Chen and violinist Audrey Solomon hosted the popular
VIENTOS TRIO wind ensemble—Ryan Zwahlen, oboe; Jennifer Stevenson, clarinet; and Michael Kreiner,
bassoon—as our guest artists in a lively and inventive program.

2009 CONCERT III: FRESH AIR BRT pianist Rose Chen and violinist Audrey Solomon were joined by a stellar group
of classically-trained jazz musicians for an excitingly different classical-jazz crossover program. The CHAMBER JAZZ ENSEMBLE, our guest artists for this performance, included Vardan Ovsepian, piano; Josh Davis, double bass;
and Gavin Salmon, drums.
